Because biochemical and nutritional metrics typically exhibit non-normal distributions in human populations, population characteristics were generated using survey-weighted procedures. Continuous parameters were modeled via the Complex Samples General Linear Model (CSGLM) and reported as estimated marginal means with standard errors (SE). Categorical parameters were converted to population-weighted frequencies expressed as percentages, with group differences evaluated using the Rao-Scott adjusted Chi-Square test.
