Our study shows that among nursing home residents in France during the 2022–2023 influenza season, HD was associated with a 30.8% (95% CI: 11.8–45.7) reduction in influenza-related hospitalisations, as compared to those who received SD. These findings corroborate the recommendations set forth by the French Society for Geriatric Medicine and the French NITAG, which has been favouring HD over SD in adults 65 years old and older including nursing home residents [20, 21].
