Conclusions

The presence of intercurrent AHA and LAC is extremely rare. This case highlights the diagnostic challenges with concomitant LAC in patients with new-onset bleeding and isolated prolonged aPTT. Any patient who presents with new-onset bleeding and isolated aPTT warrants further hematologic evaluation. In AHA, immunosuppressive therapy, including corticosteroids and rituximab, has been successfully used to achieve remission.
