The “laryngoscopic endotracheal injection (LEI)” method of artificial seawater can successfully establish the SWD-ALI model in mice with a high degree of simulation, stable injury severity, and moderate mortality, and the operation is quicker and simpler – this model is suitable for in-depth study of SWD-ALI pathogenesis and therapeutic drug screening. Lung micro-CT can quickly detect and quantify SWD-ALI damage in the early stage (as early as 0.5 h post-injury), accurately evaluate the severity of lung injury, and determine the golden period of treatment for severe SWD-ALI patients, which can guide clinical treatment and attenuate the acute severity and long-term prognosis of patients.
