Our study contributes to the growing body of research on the molecular aspects of CRE in Saudi Arabia. There are several related factors that contribute to the differing resistance rates of CRE in different regions. The effectiveness of Infection Control Practices, such as hand washing, as well as the management of devices in hospitals, is also an important factor. In addition, the facilities' ability to diagnose the resistant strain, including those with multiple carbapenemase genes, also plays an important role.
