A method for the quantitative determination of pipamperone in postmortem blood has been developed and validated. The method was also applicable to organ homogenates and urine samples. Overall, the measurements of pipamperone in postmortem heart and femoral blood in 32 cases complement available data on pipamperone concentrations in postmortem cases. The calculated H/F ratios of 31 cases and the measured organ concentrations in 12 cases additionally support the assumption that pipamperone exhibits an insignificant to moderate PMR. These extensive data will help forensic toxicologists to evaluate analytical results more reliably in the future.
