Conclusions

Piezo-assisted gap arthroplasty with vascularized buccal fat pad interposition appeared to provide a favorable functional outcome in this pediatric case of TMJa. However, longer follow-up and larger case series are needed to confirm its safety, effectiveness, and recurrence rate.
