Overall, these preliminary findings suggest that PBM appears to be a safe intervention and may influence oxidative and inflammatory pathways during postoperative recovery after abdominoplasty. However, given the small sample size and methodological limitations of this pilot study, these findings should be interpreted as hypothesis-generating rather than definitive evidence of clinical benefit.

Future randomized controlled trials with sham-irradiated controls, prospective registration, validation of salivary biomarkers against serum levels, and investigation of minimal clinically important difference (MCID) thresholds are needed to clarify the clinical relevance and reproducibility of PBM effects in surgical recovery.
