Light-Activated TCP Methods. Monomers (∼10 mg) were thermally pressed onto a quartz substrate (5 cm × 5 cm) at a temperature above its clearing point, then cooled to specified temperature (e.g. 75°C) to form a thin film. The film was annealed at this temperature for 10 min and then placed under a 365 nm UV lamp until the film became colorless and nearly transparent, yielding the polymer product. The resulting polymer was either peeled from the substrate as a solid or dissolved in an appropriate solvent (e.g. CDCl3, tetrahydrofuran) prior to characterization.
